Vinyl Grading Guide

We take great care to grade our records as accurately as possible, following the Record Collector grading system as our primary reference for condition assessment. To provide greater precision across grading, we also make regular use of Very Good Plus (VG+) as a defined intermediate grade. If you experience any issues with your purchase, please get in touch and we will work with you to find a suitable resolution.

Please note that product images may occasionally show reflections that could be mistaken for surface marks and may not always reflect the item’s true condition. We are happy to provide additional information or images upon request.

Mint (M) / Sealed –
Vinyl: Perfect in every way. Never been played.
Cover: Flawless and still sealed.

Excellent (EX) –
Vinyl: Exhibits very light signs of handling only. May have been played, but remains in outstanding condition with no audible degradation in sound quality.
Cover: Minimal wear only, with no significant creasing, folds, or damage.

Very Good Plus (VG+) –
Vinyl: Light signs of use such as faint surface marks. May have occasional light background noise, but plays very well overall.
Cover: Light wear including minor creasing, slight ring wear, or gentle edge wear.

Very Good (VG) –
Vinyl: Clearly used, with visible marks and some background noise, pops, or clicks, but still plays through well without skipping.
Cover: Noticeable wear such as ring wear, creases, edge wear, or small splits.

Good Plus (G+) / Good (G) –
Vinyl: Well played with heavier marks, scratches, and consistent surface noise. Playback remains possible without skipping.
Cover: Obvious wear including heavier ring wear, splits, writing, or staining, but still intact.

Fair (F) –
Vinyl: Very worn, with significant noise and possible playback issues.
Cover: Heavily damaged with major splits, tears, or missing parts.

Poor (P) –
Vinyl: Extremely worn and may skip or stick.
Cover: Badly damaged or incomplete.
