We take great care to grade our records as accurately and consistently as possible, using the Record Collector grading system as our primary reference for assessing condition. To provide a clearer and more transparent guide to condition, we have added Very Good Plus (VG+) as a defined intermediate grade and removed Fair (F) from our grading scale. This allows us to describe the condition of our records more precisely and consistently, particularly where an item falls between established grades. Our grading guide is provided below for a detailed explanation of each condition grade.

All photographs are genuine photographs of the exact record you will receive. We do not use stock images or generic product photographs. However, due to the highly reflective nature of vinyl, the playing surface can be particularly difficult to photograph accurately. Reflections, lighting conditions, glare, and surrounding objects can sometimes create marks or imperfections in photographs that are not actually present on the record. For this reason, our standard listing photographs generally show the record label, rather than attempting to represent the entire playing surface.

Grading Guide

Mint (M) / Sealed –
Vinyl: Perfect in every way. Never been played.
Cover: Flawless and still sealed.

Near Mint (NM) –
Vinyl: Exhibits virtually no signs of handling or play. May have been played a few times very lightly, with little to no audible degradation in sound quality.
Cover: Near flawless, with only the slightest signs of handling and no significant creasing, folds, or damage.

Excellent (EX) –
Vinyl: Exhibits very light signs of handling or play. May have faint surface marks, but remains in outstanding condition with no significant impact on sound quality.
Cover: Minimal wear only, with no significant creasing, folds, or damage.

Very Good Plus (VG+) –
Vinyl: Light signs of use such as faint surface marks. May have occasional light background noise, but plays very well overall.
Cover: Light wear including minor creasing, slight ring wear, or gentle edge wear.

Very Good (VG) –
Vinyl: Clearly used, with visible marks and some background noise, pops, or clicks, but still plays through well without skipping.
Cover: Noticeable wear such as ring wear, creases, edge wear, or small splits.

Good (G) –
Vinyl: Well played, with heavier marks, scratches, and consistent surface noise. Playback remains generally possible, though occasional skipping may occur.
Cover: Obvious wear including heavier ring and edge wear, splits, creases writing, or staining, but still intact.

Poor (P) –
Vinyl: Extremely worn, with significant surface noise and possible playback issues, including skipping or sticking.
Cover: Badly damaged, heavily worn, or incomplete, with major splits, tears, or missing parts.
